Welcome to the Center for Learning Enhancement, Assessment, and Redesign

UNT is the largest provider of online credit courses among Texas public universities.

The Center for Learning Enhancement, Assessment, and Redesign supports the University's goal of enhancing learning-centered environments, thereby helping students get the most from their academic experience. Not only do we assist faculty in the creation, design, implementation, and assessment of distributed learning courses -- we also serve as the liaison for various administrative and technical support functions, thereby saving faculty's time, talent, and creative energies for their students.

"Conference Outside the Box: Using Blackboard to Create a Virtual Graduate Recruitment Fair"

CLEAR welcomes the UNT Toulouse Graduate School's Dana Mordecai (Recruitment & Retention Coordinator) and Lisa Valentine (Recruitment Graduate Assistant) as they discuss "Conference Outside the Box: Using Blackboard to Create a Virtual Graduate Recruitment Fair".

The UNT Toulouse Graduate School hosted an annual state-wide event, Lone Star Graduate Diversity Colloquium, in March.  The event is a collective effort by all colleges and universities in Texas to encourage more underrepresented minorities, women, and first-generation college students to stay in Texas and complete their graduate education. To reach a larger audience, in addition to the two-day live conference, we created a virtual conference accessed by students at Texas Tech University, University of Texas–El Paso, University of Texas–San Antonio, and the University of Houston-Downtown. In addition to video conferencing of presentations, the virtual component also consisted of a virtual graduate recruitment fair, to our knowledge, the first of its kind. The virtual graduate fair allowed students one-on-one or small group interactions with representatives from graduate schools across the state. In our presentation we will discuss CLEAR’s support of the virtual conference, how we got started, technology, executing the event, and lessons learned.

The Brown Bag will meet
Wednesday, May 16, 2012, in Chilton 245 from Noon -1 p.m.

CLEAR will also stream the presentation LIVE online.
