Canvas, the learning management system (LMS) in use at UNT, may be used for course activities and communication in online, blended or traditional face-to-face courses.

Respondus LockDown Browser

With Respondus' specialized browser, the testing environment within Canvas is locked down so students are unable to print, copy, go to another URL, or access other applications.

Respondus Monitor

Respondus Monitor is a companion application for LockDown Browser that uses webcam and video technology to prevent cheating during online exams. Respondus Monitor integrates seamlessly with learning management systems and is ideal for non-proctored testing environments.

Turnitin helps students learn to cite their work properly and aids faculty in detecting possible incidents of plagiarism on written assignments.

iClicker

Packback

Approved Technology "Approved Technology” is approved for use within our LMS. We can help you link the technology to your course, but we don’t provide official support for the application. You will need to contact the vendor’s technical support for help with this technology.

Packback enables Inquiry-Based Online Discussion at scale. Using AI, our platform acts as a Digital TA to coach students to ask their own open-ended questions, auto-moderate the discussion, and help instructors amplify the impact of their feedback.

PBworks (formerly PB Wiki) lets you create a simple, secure Web-based workspace that supports highly collaborative class activities.

Piazza is a free platform for instructors to efficiently manage class Q&A. Students can post questions and collaborate to edit responses to these questions. Instructors can also answer questions, endorse student answers, and edit or delete any posted content. Piazza is designed to simulate real class discussion. It aims to get high quality answers to difficulty questions, fast!
