CLAW 3 Classroom Orientation Course

Are you interested in centering active learning and group engagement in your classes? The division of Digital Strategy & Innovation (DSI) invites you to an interactive orientation to teaching in CLAW 3 classrooms (Gateway 049, Chilton 245, or Sage 230). In this session, experienced UNT faculty and the DSI faculty development and classroom technology teams will demonstrate how classroom design and technology can be used to create group-centered, active learning experiences. Drs. Christy Crutsinger and Amy Petros will share their experiences and activity ideas. In true active learning fashion, attendees will be sent pre-work before the session so that we can flip the learning experience! Seats are limited.

Enjoy lunch on DSI CLEAR while learning about Packback, a robust learning technology that will have you rethinking how discussion boards can be used in your courses. Packback uses AI technology to guide students to create deeper level discussion posts based on inquiry and critical thinking. Packback can easily be integrated into your Canvas course. In this session, you will learn about the Packback technology, how to use and integrate it into your course, and why it is a great tool to aid with student learning.

The Office of Faculty Success and DSI CLEAR are co-sponsoring this panel featuring UNT faculty with expertise in designing inclusively engaging content. Faculty may earn ABCA credit by attending any two CLEAR inclusive events in their entirety. When designing courses, faculty have many choices about content. In this session, faculty panelists will share how they leverage culturally responsive content selection and presentation to design inclusive and engaging learning experiences.
